Erik van Schaaik volgde de studie grafische vormgeving aan de [[Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem]] (ArtEZ). Hij maakte kinderprogramma's voor [[VPRO]] en [[KRO]] en verschillende korte [[animatiefilms]]. Erik werkte onder andere met Il Luster Productions, The Drawing Room, Pedri Animation, [[Burny Bos|BosBros]], Martin Fondse, [[Eric Vloeimans]] en [[Ernst Reijseger]].


Erik van Schaaik begon te filmen op de leeftijd van twaalf jaar. Tijdens zijn studie grafische vormgeving aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem (ArtEZ) begon hij te werken voor de Nederlandse televisie en creëerde een reeks animatiefilms, live action drama en documentaires in een verscheidenheid van stijlen en technieken. Na het afstuderen bleef Erik kindertelevisie maken en ontwikkelde hij tevens een aantal korte animatiefilms, samen met musici als [[Martin Fondse]], [[Eric Vloeimans]] en [[Ernst Reijseger]]. Erik werkt momenteel aan de geanimeerde griezelkomedie ‘Under The Apple Tree’ en de geanimeerde speelfilm ‘Hieronymus’ over de beroemde middeleeuwse schilder [[Jheronimus Bosch | Hieronymus Bosch]].

'Erik van Schaaik' (Maartensdijk, 24 juli 1968) is een Nederlands animator, schrijver, film- en televisieregisseur, producent, vormgever en componist.

Loopbaan

Erik van Schaaik volgde de studie grafische vormgeving aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem (ArtEZ). Hij maakte kinderprogramma's voor VPRO en KRO en verschillende korte animatiefilms. Erik werkte onder andere met Il Luster Productions, The Drawing Room, Pedri Animation, BosBros, Martin Fondse, Eric Vloeimans en Ernst Reijseger.
